Cheryl Johnson is a Performance Solution Specialist with more than twenty years of experience in coaching, learning, development, and workplace training performance. With her pioneering attitude, Cheryl has made strong contributions in the areas of learning with an emphasis on behavioral change. Cheryl has been recognized as a leader in the architecture and design of interactive multimedia
learning systems and strategies. She is also published by well-known educational psychologist, Michael Allen in his 2012 e-Learning Annual. Cheryl has dedicated her life to developing learning solutions that drive performance at work and in one's personal life.
It was while working with a partner, VoiceTeach, in 2001, that Cheryl assisted in the instructional design strategy for a powerful interactive patented, landmark online training solution for voice recognition technology long before online learning was deemed to be an effective learning solution. Cheryl continues to seek solutions to aid in the learning and development process. In 2011, Cheryl partnered with Mental Training, Inc. to develop a revolutionary mobile application, MentalApp Mobile Mental Trainer, that supports high performing athletes in tracking mental training progress and connecting their success to their physical and mental training efforts.
In her volunteer time Cheryl works with people who have mental health issues to educate them on strategies for managing their health and wellness. Cheryl also works with troubled youth and their parents to find successful strategies for navigating the difficult teen years.

Implemented on online learning program with hands on activities appropriate for school age children.
Developed a cognitive improvement program (mental training) for high performing athletes. This includes, but is not limited to a mental training program for athletes, coaches, and parents. Created an online gaming platform to host interactive games to improve mental cognition. Developed short, fun video segments to provide reminders and repetition of key concepts. This program, at its highest level, works with bio-feedback devices to track mental cognition improvement.
Created a six hour online learning in a gaming environment for KPMG. KPMG Managers were required to learn new reporting standards. There were auditing according to US GAAP standards and in the future, they were required to change their processes to adhere to IFRS worldwide accounting practices. This six-module scenario based training was designed to give them didactic learning regarding terminology, background and history. In addition, the modules were structured to present the learner with scenarios from a virtual company that would allow the learner to complete an audit using the new standards. This was implemented through an onboarding program.
Created award-winning simulation-based learning for GRS Academy. The learning campaign nurtured critical thinking skills over time in order to make transitions for patients from the hospital to home successful. Saved the company millions in hospital readmission costs which are not covered by typical payment services.
Designed, delivered and implemented a social learning program. Touchstone Energy is a membership organization with 741 electrical coops and 60,000 potential learners. This project included an online learning solution along with on the job training and job supports for individual tasks that mapped to specific competencies.
Designing a learning platform (using Moodle) that supports the concept of “Creating a Culture of Learning” for electrical cooperatives throughout the USA and Canada. The platform supports both formal and informal learning as well as social learning opportunities. It incorporates both technology based and offline learning targeted at organizational objectives and improved performance. Specific measurements are being defined to maximum ROI/ROV.
Conducted a Performance Enhancement Analysis for the Defense Security Services Academy. DSSA was seeking solutions to improve performance with the clients they served. They wanted to find ways to support learning and job skills outside the training environment. Also conducted a Virtual Environment Analysis on the use of Virtual Environments for training. The analysis was conducted to explore the expansion of the environment for conducting performance-based assessments as well as practical, hands-on exercises.
Created online courses for Shell Oil and their Waste Hazard Management and Journey Management programs. Also created tutorials that outlined the operation and maintenance of drilling equipment.
Developed a Needs Analysis and Learning Plan for a scenario based and hands on diversity training program for Shell’s Human Resources department.
Designed and developed learning strategy templates along with ROI measurement studies templates for use with LMS customers.
Designed and developed an instructor led course with supporting online learning and videos to introduce a change management/leadership program to the Sun Edison management team. The objective was to embed learning into the culture of their organization. This was an action learning program requiring participants to complete a year-long project to qualify for Green Belt status.
The FAA redesigned their primary learning program and wanted to keep a key component; on the job learning. They felt that their learners gained the most benefit from hands on experience. To ensure the learning program was effective in meeting its stated objectives we conducted a Needs Analysis for two separate courseware revisions This project involved the development of a complete Front End Analysis, Administration Guide, Marketing Strategy, Design and Delivery Strategies and Kirkpatrick's Level 4 and 5 Evaluation plan.
Designed and developed interactive instructor-led courses that support the Military Transition Assistance Program in transitioning military personnel to civilian life. Rather than a standard presentation approach, the requirement was to make the program task based where the learner was directed to complete job hunting activities like writing a resume, participating in interviews, managing stress, etc. in both a formal and informal learning environment.
